In the series TOUCH I sought to capture and convey the atmosphere of intimacy and sensuality that everyone experiences in moments of closeness. Personal states of openness and vulnerability here unfold into a universal experience, familiar and relatable to all.
For this series, I was inspired by the Hokusai exhibition — especially his use of silhouette and natan. I also drew from Japanese animation, where color serves to distinguish characters, as well as from Egon Schiele’s sketches, which impressed me with their ability to convey the body’s dynamic energy.
